Description
This course is designed to cover High School level biology concepts. Using the textbook and some resources from Guest Hollow, the course will cover Cellular Structure and Function, Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration, the Cell Cycle, Genetics, DNA and Proteins, Classification, Ecology, Microorganisms, Plant Classification and Biology, and Animal Classification and Biology. The course will be taught from a Christian Worldview and will include discussions about creation vs evolution from a scientific perspective.
Labs will be included in the scope of the course; some done together and some done at home. A microscope and prepared slides will be required. Most other lab supplies are household items or can be easily and inexpensively ordered.
A combination of reading, lectures, videos, and written activities will help make this class accessible to all learning styles.
